Give Vision. Give Hope.

Every Membership at Vision Wellness directly funds no-cost care through Eye HOPE

Vision is Essential, Not a Luxury

No-cost Eye Care for Those in Need

No-cost

No Red Tape

No Shame

How Eye HOPE Works…

  • Patients that qualify for Eye HOPE will receive benefits similar to Vision Wellness Members.

    • Comprehensive Eye Exam

    • Retinal Photos

    • Single Vision Glasses

Our generous Members fund this program covering the cost of care for their neighbors in need.

All care is provided within the Vision Wellness facility without any mention of a patient’s ability to pay or not. People should never feel shame or feel less than simply for falling on hard times.

  • Qualification is based on need, not on bureaucracy.

To qualify, someone must meet one of the following criteria:

    • Uninsured or underinsured for basic vision care

    • Temporary financial hardship (job loss, medical bills, family crisis, etc.)

    • Income below Blount County poverty line

    • Self-attestation of inability to pay without causing financial hardship

Care is provided on an ongoing basis based on available resources.

  • To apply for care, you can either:

    • Be referred to Eye HOPE through a community partner such as a school, church, social worker, or community organization.

      • Direct them to this site and they can fill out a referral on your behalf with verification of your need

    • Self-identify through Vision Wellness and fill out our online application

More About Eye HOPE…

  • In most cases, no. Some situations may require simple verification, but Eye HOPE was intentionally built to be low-barrier and respectful.

  • These are handled on a case-by-case basis. If contacts or specialty care services are deemed to be medically necessary, Eye HOPE would determine the next appropriate steps.

  • This program is not an unlimited or automatic recurring benefit. It’s provided by the generosity of Vision Wellness Members and is meant to help people meet their essential vision needs when they are in a place of financial hardship.

  • Eye HOPE primarily serves the local Blount County community. Priority is given to those that live and work nearby or those that are referred by local community partners.
